Owner of St. Paul staffing agency sentenced to prison for one million dollar tax fraud
May 5, 2022 — A Woodbury woman was sentenced to 15 months in prison and ordered to pay $1,019,572.12 in restitution to the IRS for filing false federal income tax returns, announced United States Attorney Andrew M. Luger.

Hartford tax preparer pleads guilty to federal tax charge
May 23, 2025 — David X. Sullivan, United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut, and Harry Chavis, Special Agent in Charge of IRS Criminal Investigation in New England, announced that Clyde Gibson, Jr., of Hartford, waived his right to be indicted and pleaded guilty today before U.S. District Judge Sarah F. Russell in New Haven to a tax fraud offense.

Hialeah tax preparer sentenced to prison for $20 million IRS fraud
March 21, 2025 — Today, the owner of a South Florida tax preparation business who pled guilty in December 2024 to aiding and assisting the preparation of false tax returns was sentenced to almost five years in federal prison and one year of supervised release post-prison. She was also ordered to pay over $20 million in restitution to the IRS.
